Rashid Khan Admits Early IPL 2026 Struggles With Line and Length Control Issues

Early Struggles After Returning from Injury

SIX6S LIVE After a rocky start to IPL 2026, Rashid Khan faced difficulties in the early stages of the tournament following his return from a hamstring injury. Playing for Gujarat Titans, the Afghanistan spinner initially struggled to find rhythm and consistency, with a series of expensive spells that failed to make a strong impact.

Issues With Line, Length, and Changing Pitch Conditions

As the tournament progressed, Rashid Khan acknowledged that his early struggles were largely due to a lack of control over his line and length. He also pointed to evolving pitch conditions that have made life tougher for spinners.

“Wickets are not as supportive for spinners as they should be, but I still feel that in the first few games, I missed my line and length a bit...,” Rashid told Sportstar.

He further explained how modern IPL conditions differ from the past: “Earlier, when pitches offered some turn, batters still struggled to find boundaries even if you missed your line or length — but that’s changed now.”

Regaining Form and Gujarat Titans’ Consistent Culture

Despite the difficult start, Rashid Khan has gradually rediscovered his rhythm, taking seven wickets so far in the tournament. His improvement reflects both personal adjustment and the stable environment within Gujarat Titans, known for their consistent team culture.
